Bob Murphy Moving Away Potluck
May 25, 2006
As many of you know, multi H.U.R.T. 100 finisher, WS 100 Finisher, and trail runner raconteur, Bob Murphy, is moving to the mainland. We are planning a special moving away potluck for June 3 at 9:15 a.m..
This potluck will take place at the park on the corner of Makiki Street and Makiki Heights Drive (Baker Park Click for map). This is the park by the water pumping station on the way up to the Nature Center.
Please bring something to share as it is a potluck. I know Bob is looking forward to seeing all his friends before he leaves.
Please contact either Cheryl Loomis ( [email protected] ) or Bob McAllaster ( [email protected] ) if you have any questions.
aloha bob,
your ultraness will be missed on the trails.
happy running. :)

What sad news! Aloha Bob. Though I haven't seen you in a while, I know you will be missed by your friends and the Hawaii running community. Good luck to you and your family on your relocation. Keep on running and I'll see you at the next race! les

sorry guys, but my parents just saw this blog and said that you guys are a, in their words, "karupting" influence on my "moral devlupmint", so I can't go out and play with you guys for awhile....so sorry, matt (:

Ah, young Jedi Matt,
You are strong and fast, but you have much to learn in the field of marking women's legs. It's not a science, but an art. A beautiful art...

although I'm young and inexperienced in this professional field, I feel that my youthful enthusiasm will more than make up for my lack of experience. Why don't Gordon and I have a competition on June 3 to see which candidate the ladies would want to have doing the pen work? I can attach a resume if needed!!! I'm also willing to race Gordon for the job, but only if its less than a 100 miles, because he'd kick my butt in that!

Matt, There is a long apprenticeship process. We are finalizing job standards, minimum education levels, years of related experience, etc., right now. I know Gordon L. had expressed interest in this position as well. You do know there are no financial rewards?

when Bob actually leaves, who is getting his job of writing race numbers on all the legs of the ladies that come out for the race? you know, just pure curiosity that makes me pose the question and stuff, but I do know a guy who is pretty handy with a permanent pen.....
